Information For artists

Wasted Spaces is continually looking out for artists who feel they could breathe new life into a tired old shop front or commercial space with an exciting installation.

Applications are invited from creatives of any discipline, regardless of experience, age or background.

To express interest in participating in future Wasted Spaces projects please email us with examples of recent work and an Artists Statement.

The steps to obtaining a space:

  1. Artist emails Wasted Spaces with work examples and Artists Statement
  2. The Wasted Spaces team reviews the work
  3. If successful, a profile page is created for the artist for inclusion on the Wasted Spaces website. This includes images of the artist’s work, name, website link and short biography
  4. The Wasted Spaces team search for a suitable site for the artist
  5. Once a space is found, the artist is contacted again to assess availability and the suitability of the space
  6. The artist agrees to a space and submits a site-specific proposal
  7. The Wasted Spaces team reviews the proposal
  8. The proposal is approved and a timeline is agreed
  9. The artist begins work
  10. The artist and the Wasted Spaces team install the artwork
